The Suns, led by Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, are 36-26 on the season. They are in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

“I believe in this team, and we believe in one another,” Durant said. “Yes, playing with Brad and Book is new, but as far as the game itself, I have seen everything in this league. Everything has been thrown at me. I just want to see us continue to grow as a unit. I like our chemistry. Not just the three of us, but our whole team.

“I think we’re starting to build something and form an identity. And that takes time and reps. Our coaching staff is doing a great job. I’m not promising anything, but I like our chances against anybody.”

The Suns are 12th in the NBA in points per game and 16th in points per game allowed.

Durant, 35, is averaging 27.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists this season while shooting 52.4% from the field, 42.0% from beyond the arc and 85.5% from the free-throw line.

The NBA legend told Haynes that his passion for playing basketball is still very high.

“I just enjoy getting up every day to do this s–t,” Durant said. “There are going to be days where it’s a struggle, and there have been great days. I could be doing a lot of other s–t with my life. I’m talented at this s–t, and I enjoy being talented. I enjoy the camaraderie and the brotherhood that comes with this game. It’s that simple.”

The Suns lost to the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. It will be fascinating to see how far Durant and Co. go in the 2024 postseason.
