Middleton opted out of a $40 million option earlier this month with an eye on a longer deal.

Middleton, who turns 32 in August, has been a major part of the Bucks’ status as a contender, playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt and helping Milwaukee win the championship in 2021.

Injuries limited Middleton to 33 games this past season, when he averaged 15.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds, shooting a career-low .436 from the field.
