Khris Middleton Expected to Re-Sign With Bucks

Free agent forward Khris Middleton is expected to re-sign with the Bucks after declining the payer option on his contract and entering free agency, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.Khris Middleton

Middleton assisted in the Bucks’ coaching search, per Fischer, leading to the belief that he intends to remain with the franchise for the long haul. (The Bucks eventually hired former Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin.)

Middleton, who turns 32 in August, has been a major part of the Bucks’ status as a contender, playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt and helping Milwaukee win the championship in 2021.

Injuries limited Middleton to 33 games this past season, when he averaged 15.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds, shooting a career-low .436 from the field. He has joined center Brook Lopez as two major free agents from last season’s team.

Both Middleton and Lopez have been linked to the Rockets and several others — though sources have told Hoops Wire it would be a surprise if either were to leave Milwaukee.
