Thomas, 25, is 6-foot-3 and spent his first two seasons with the Pistons after going undrafted out of Creighton in 2018. He signed a 10-day contract with the Rockets in May, then played well and signed a multiyear deal.

The Rockets released him at the start of the season as part of a trade in which they acquired Rockets acquired forward Sekou Doumbouya (later waived).

With Bilbao, Thomas will be joining several former NBA players — big men Jeff Withey and Angel Delgado, and shooting guards Andrew Goudelock and Damien Inglis
