The Kings have waived shooting guard DJ Steward and point guard Matt Coleman III, the team announced in a press release.
Steward, 19, is 6-foot-2 and went undrafted after one season at Duke. He then played for the Kings’ summer league team, which won the title in Las Vegas.
He appeared in three of Sacramento’s five summer games, scoring a combined eight points and shooting 2-of-10 from the field in 25 total minutes.
Coleman, 23, is 6-2 and also went undrafted, out of Texas. He joined the Kings for summer league and appeared in three preseason games.
Both players seem likely to be headed for the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s affiliate in the G League.
