The Knicks have been active in trade talks and have made guards Immanuel Quickley, Derrick Rose and Evan Fournier available, as well as small forward Cam Reddish, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.
With the season looking to be going nowhere, the Knicks have long been rumored to be aiming to make a move (or three), the idea being to put a better cast around the likes of point guard Jalen Brunson, guard/forward RJ Barrett and power forward Julius Randle.
Per Katz, the Knicks have indicated they are willing to attach Quickley or Fournier to a Reddish trade. In a potential deals that may involve just Quickley, New York is seeking a first-round pick as part of the return, Katz added.
Given that the Knicks have an abundance of guards, it may not hurt to move one. As Katz mentioned, a trade could help free up consistent playing time for those who remain.
“The Knicks have not shown any interest in attaching draft picks to Fournier just to move him,” Katz reported, citing league sources. “Still, that doesn’t mean a Fournier trade is impossible. They have expressed to other teams that they would consider dealing him for a less desirable contract if it meant bringing back an asset.”
