Knicks power forward Julius Randle underwent arthroscopic surgery on his bothersome left ankle on Friday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.Julius Randle drives past Kyle Lowry

Randle missed the final two weeks of the regular season with what the Knicks called a sprained ankle. He was then hobbled for the playoffs, but played well enough for the Knicks to rout the Cavaliers in the first round before falling to the Heat.

Either way, he is expected to be available for training camp by the time it rolls around in the fall.

Randle, 28, realized he would probably need surgery on the ankle as he played on it during the playoffs, Wojnarowski added.

He averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds during the regular season, starting each of the Knicks’ first 77 games. He missed the final five after sustaining the injury.
