The Knicks have waived center/forward Taj Gibson, the team announced in a press release.
Regard Taj Gibson waive, heard NYK made tough decision to, in part, give them roster flexibility as they expect to be active between now & trade deadline. NYK now has open roster spot. Club holds Gibson in high regard, appreciates what he did for them. @FredKatz 1st on Gibson.

Gibson, 38, is 6-foot-9 and was waived by the Wizards in October. He played for the Knicks from 2019-22 — and has appeared in 945 career games overall, including runs with the Bulls, Thunder and Timberwolves as well.
Last season, Gibson appeared in 49 games with Washington and averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds.
He signed with the Knicks on Dec. 14.
