It’s hard to tell what the Knicks will look like when the season begins, but at least we have an idea where they will be.
And on Oct. 19 to open the season, that place will be Memphis, where the Knicks will open the season against the Grizzlies, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.
Of course, so far the biggest news surrounding New York basketball was the signing of former Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson in free agency. And Brunson is set to return to his old stomping grounds on Dec. 27, when the Knicks visit Dallas, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
That game will take place two days after the Knicks host the 76ers on Christmas Day. You can view the full Christmas slate on Hoops Wire right here.
Coach Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks are coming off a 37-45 season in which they missed the playoffs. Along with adding Brunson, they reportedly are trying to make a run at Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, believed to be available in trade talks.
The 2022-23 NBA season is expected to tip off on Oct. 18.
