Knicks, Reps for Cam Reddish Working on Trade

The Knicks are working on a trade involving forward Cam Reddish, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

Reddish’s representatives are also involved, unified with the Knicks’ front office to make a deal happen, Bondy added.

This follows a report from The Athletic’s Fred Katz, which indicated the Knicks have been active in trade calls and have been making Reddish and guards Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickley and Evan Fournier available. We have that full story on Hoops Wire here.

As Bondy relayed, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has again pulled Reddish from the rotation, as the Knicks seek a way out of their spinning wheel of being average. So Thibodeau has occasionally — some may even say frequently — toying with the lineup and rotation.

Reddish, 23, is 6-foot-8 and has appeared in 20 games this season, starting eight, and averaging 8.4 points on 45 percent shooting. As Bondy noted, he has displayed “flashes of his blue-chip potential” when getting a chance.

But as has always been the case during his Knicks run, consistency in playing time and performance has been a bit of an issue.

Originally drafted by the Hawks with the No. 10 overall pick in 2019, Reddish was acquired by the Knicks in a trade on Jan. 13. He was averaging a career-high 11.9 points with the Hawks at the time of the trade (through 34 games).

The Knicks (11-13) sit in last place in the Atlantic Division entering Wednesday’s game vs. the Hawks, but are just a game out of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.
