The Knicks weren’t finished. After a flurry of roster moves Wednesday morning, New York signed guard Jaden Akins to a two-way contract, filling the last of its three available two-way spots.
Akins joins Kevin McCullar Jr. and second-round pick Tyler Nickel in those slots, as relayed by Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
And if Akins already feels familiar with the paperwork, there’s a reason. This is the third contract he’s signed with the Knicks this month.
New York previously signed and waived Akins twice on Exhibit 10 deals before bringing him back Wednesday on a contract that could actually get him onto an NBA court.
The 23-year-old went undrafted out of Michigan State in 2025 after earning third-team All-Big Ten and All-Defensive honors as a senior. He spent last season with the Motor City Cruise of the G League, averaging 15.1 points, 5.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 47 games while shooting 35.1 percent from three. Akins also played for the Knicks during Summer League in July.
New York began Wednesday with a full 21-man camp roster, then waived John Konchar and N’Faly Dante, briefly signed and waived Toby Okani, and added Tony Bradley.
Now Akins is back, too. Three Knicks contracts in one month. This one might actually stick.
