Knicks Signing Damyean Dotson To 10-Day Contract

The Knicks intend to sign guard Damyean Dotson to a 10-day contract via the hardship exemption, agent Chris Gaston told Shams Charania of The Athletic.Damyean Dotson

Dotson, 27, is 6-foot-5 and is returning to the place where his career began, after the Knicks selected him in the second round (No. 44 overall) of the 2017 NBA Draft. He is currently playing for the Austin Spurs of the G League.

He spent last season with the Cavaliers, averaging 6.7 points in 46 games. The season before that, Dotson averaged the same amount of points in 48 games with the Knicks. But this will be his first run under New York coach Tom Thibodeau.

The Knicks have six players in the league’s health and safety protocol — RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox, Quentin Grimes, Miles McBride, Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin.

Dotson won’t count toward the regular roster, so the Knicks won’t need to make a corresponding move.
