Kristaps Porzingis Could Make Wizards Debut Immediately After All-Star Break

New acquisition Kristaps Porzingis very well could make his Wizards debut in their next game, on Friday, Feb. 25 vs. the Spurs, according to coach Wes Unseld Jr.Kristaps Porzingis

Porzingis, 26, is 7-foot-3 and was acquired by the Wizards from the Mavericks at the trade deadline. He had been dealing with knee soreness while still in Dallas, and that has lingered following the trade.

“I anticipate he will (vs. the Spurs), but once again we’ll just have to see,” Unseld told reporters.

Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points and 7.7 rebounds in 34 games. He has continuously dealt with knee soreness since suffering a torn ACL in 2018. This season, he has missed 26 games.

The Wizards are 27-31 and in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, a game behind the Hawks for a spot in the play-in tournament. They will be without star guard Bradley Beal (wrist) for the remainder of the season.
