Lakers Announce Anthony Davis Injury, Say He’s Out Indefinitely

It took a while, but the Lakers have made Anthony Davis‘ injury official, announcing that the star big man has a stress issue in his right foot and will be out indefinitely.Anthony Davis

Reports earlier this week suggested Davis will be out for at least a month.

Davis, 29, has experienced an array of injuries since arriving in LA, and even before that with the Pelicans. He is averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds in 25 appearances, shooting 59 percent from the field.

Davis suffered the injury in a Dec. 16 game against the Nuggets.

When he’s healthy, he looks like an NBA MVP candidate. The problem, of course, is keeping him on the court. He appeared in just 40 games last season and 36 the year before that.

With Davis out, the Lakers have been trying to fill the center spot by committee with the likes of Thomas Bryant, Damian Jones and Wenyen Gabriel. Results have been mixed.
