Lakers Express Trade Interest In Celtics’ Josh Richardson

The Lakers are among the teams interested in Celtics guard/forward Josh Richardson ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.Josh Richardson

Give all their struggles, the Lakers are looking to add some help, somehow, someway. Rumors have circulated that they would prefer to move Russell Westbrook, but that seems like an impossibility, considering his age, salary and rocky production level.

“The Lakers have offered Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and a draft pick in trades for several sub-All-Star players,” RealGM wrote. “Thus far, they’ve had no traction in finding a deal with that package.”

Richardson, 27, is 6-foot-5 and was acquired by the Celtics in a July trade with the Mavericks. He has rebounded with a nice season after signing a contract extension with the Celtics in August. In 43 games this season, he is averaging 9.9 points on 44 percent shooting.

Richardson is due to earn about $12.4 million next season, the final year of his deal. Along with the Celtics and Mavericks, he has also spent time with the 76ers and Heat.

He is also among a handful of Boston players believed to have been made available, joining the likes of point guard Dennis Schroder and center Al Horford. (More on Schroder here.)

The Jazz are another team said to be eyeing a potential trade for Richardson.
