Lakers’ Jeanie Buss: Too Early To Make Judgement On Frank Vogel

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss said no “judgement” will be made yet on the status of coach Frank Vogel, who has reportedly been on the hot seat as the high-profile roster hovers around .500.Jeanie Buss

“Until we’re 100% healthy, I don’t think you can really make any judgment,” Buss told Mark Medina of NBA.com at halftime of the Lakers-Celtics game on Tuesday.

The Lakers won to improve to 13-12, as recapped by Hoops Wire’s Alejandro Avila. That said, it’s been quite a rocky start for a team with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. This despite the fact the Lakers are tied with the Clippers for most home games (16) entering Wednesday’s game.

Still, Buss indicated the Lakers are far from panicking.

“We’re as connected as any organization can be,” Buss said. “I really don’t know what you’re looking for me to say. I would say until we’re 100 percent healthy, I won’t make any judgments about anything.”

Prior to the game, Vogel said he has not talked to GM Rob Pelinka about his status, adding that he’s not all that concerned about his own job security.

“We’re focused on the job,” Vogel said. “We stay in the moment, focus on the task at hand and try to win the next game and try to get some momentum around our season.

“It’s not up to me. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it. Really just focused on the job.”
