Lakers Sign Jay Huff To Available Two-Way Slot

The Lakers have signed rookie center Jay Huff to a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.Jay Huff

Huff, 23, is 7-foot-1 and went undrafted out of Virginia. He appeared in four summer league games with the Wizards before signing a training camp contract. He was released by Washington last week.

As a senior at Virginia last season, he averaged 13.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Huff joins an otherwise experienced position for the Lakers, which also includes Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan.

Former first-round pick Sekou Doumbouya holds the Lakers’ other two-way spot.

Huff and Doumbouya can each appear in up to 50 NBA games on a two-way contract, though they are expected to spend much of their time with the G League’s South Bay Lakers.
