Lakers Trading Thomas Bryant to Nuggets

The Lakers are trading center Thomas Bryant to the Nuggets in exchange for shooting guard Davon Reed and three second-round picks, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.Thomas Bryant

This follows a major deal that was agreed upon Wednesday, when the Lakers sent Russell Westbrook to the Jazz in an eight-player trade that landed D’Angelo Russell in LA.

Bryant, 25, has had a nice season during his first run in LA, appearing in 41 games and averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds, filling in admirably when Anthony Davis went down with an injury.

But the Lakers landed power forward Jarred Vanderbilt as part of the trade with the Jazz, and that may have meant a decrease in playing time for Bryant. So the Lakers opted to land a player and assets in exchange.

That said, Bryant could become an underrated factor for a Nuggets team that currently owns the best record in the Western Conference.

Reed, 27, is 6-foot-5 and averaging 2.3 points in his second season with the Nuggets. He has also spent time with the Suns and Pacers.
