Lamar Odom says Triangle Offense could save Lakers

Not a whole lot is working for the Los Angeles Lakers since they won the In-Season Tournament. Or as some will tell you, since the Lakers won all those rebranded regular-season games on the fancy courts.Lamar Odom

Regardless of what you think of the tournament, the Lakers have struggled mightily since, resulting in very obvious frustration from LeBron James. But fear not, former Lakers great Lamar Odom suggested he has an answer.

“It’s the offense. The offense is causing us defensive problems,” Odom told TMZ Sports. “I got the triangle offense right in my house. I’ll drop it off.”

Odom is referring to the offense invented by former assistant coach Tex Winter and made famous by Phil Jackson. That offense convinced Michael Jordan to share the wealth (and the scoring load) and helped the Bulls win six championships.

Jackson brought the offense to the Lakers later, winning five more titles with the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. And yes, without question, Odom had a hand in some of those titles.

When asked if the triangle could rescue James, Anthony Davis and the rest of today’s Lakers, Odom was direct with his answer.

“One hundred percent,” he said. “Well, our last five championships have been won with the triangle, right?”

Odom repeated himself on social media, only this time in all caps.

“There is only 1 way to fix the Lakers,” he posted to X/Twitter. “RUN THE TRIANGLE!!!!”

It may sound crazy, but hey, it’s not like anything else is working for the Lakers. So it may not hurt to give Odom a call.
