LeBron James Sent Back To LA For Treatment On Knee

Lakers star LeBron James has been sent back to Los Angeles to receive treatment on his sore left knee, as relayed by Dave McMenamin of ESPN.LeBron James

James has missed the previous two games with the injury and had already been ruled out of Sunday’s road game vs. the Hawks. The Lakers (24-26) are wrapping up a six-game trip, their longest of the season.

“As long as the swelling is there, he is going to be out,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel told reporters, via McMenamin.

James underwent an MRI, which revealed only the swelling, Vogel said.

Legendary Bulls star Michael Jordan began to miss games late in his career with constant swelling in his knee, an issue that occurred while Jordan had come back to play for the Wizards.

James, 37, is averaging 29.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 36 games. The Lakers are off until Wednesday, when they return home to face the Trail Blazers.
