Mark Cuban Refutes Report That Luka Doncic Requested Roster Changes

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban denied a report that star guard Luka Doncic has “strongly indicated” he would like to see upgrades to the roster ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline, as reported by Tim MacMahon of ESPN.Luka Doncic

“Tim MacMahon got it dead wrong. Luka has never suggested, asked, demanded or discussed changes to the roster,” Cuban said, via MacMahon. “Luka and (GM Nico Harrison) have a great relationship. They talk almost daily. Luka knows exactly what we have going on and is very supportive.”

Doncic and the Mavs advanced to the Western Conference finals last season, and may in fact need some changes to get back. But they may not, too, given Doncic’s ability to take over games against anyone, anywhere, anytime.

And if Doncic did indicate that he would like to see changes, it would be a first. He historically stayed quiet on roster matters.

As we relayed earlier, the Mavs are said to be among those in pursuit of Knicks forward Cam Reddish and have been active in trade talks involving other teams and players as well.
