Marquese Chriss, Traded To Rockets, Undergoes Knee Surgery

Forward Marquese Chriss underwent surgery on his knee on Wednesday, the same day on which the Mavericks agreed to trade him to the Rockets, as relayed by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Chriss is one of several players headed to Houston in exchange for center Christian Wood, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Rockets are also set to receive Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke and the No. 26 overall draft pick.

Chriss, 24, is 6-foot-9 and appeared in 34 games after first signing a 10-day deal, then for the remainder of the season in January.

Haynes reported Chriss will need several months to recover from the surgery.

The No. 8 overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, Chriss also spent time with the Suns, Rockets, Cavaliers and Warriors before signing on with the Mavs.

Wood, 26, is 6-foot-10 and just completed his second season in Houston, averaging 17.9 points and 10.1 rebounds in 68 games, starting all but one. He has also spent time with the Pistons, Pelicans, Bucks, Hornets and 76ers.
