New Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison has already made several additions, from swingmen Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown, to center Moses Brown.
But he may not be finished, as relayed by Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.
The Mavs also clearly have an interest in Raptors point guard Goran Dragic, as well as Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen, Townsend noted.
Dragic was just sent to the Raptors in the Heat’s sign-and-trade deal for point guard Kyle Lowry, and there is some talk Toronto will look to move Dragic again.
Meanwhile, multiple reports have linked Dallas as among those with an interest in Markkanen, a restricted free agent.
While the Mavs’ interest in both players appears to be real, nothing is “imminent,” at least not on the Dragic front, Townsend reported.
Either way, Harrison did tell Townsend that the Mavs remain in pursuit of improvements.
“Always active,” Harrison said. “Always active.”
Along with hirig Harrison to replace longtime GM Donnie Nelson, the Mavericks added coach Jason Kidd, who takes over for Rick Carlisle (now with the Pacers).
Mavs owner Mark Cuban did admit he does like the addition of Sterling Brown, Moses Brown and Bullock.
Those signings “improved our team significantly,” Cuban said, via Townsend.
