This is the second time this season Burke has entered protocols. He also did so back in December, back when the entire league went through a massive outbreak despite being its 90-plus percent vaccination rate.
Burke, 29, is 6-foot-0 and averaging 5.3 points in 39 games. This is his second full season with the Mavericks and third overall. He has also spent time with the 76ers, Knicks and Jazz.
Burke could potentially return in less than a week, assuming he registers no further positive tests. Mavs guard Sterling Brown also recently entered the protocols.
