The NBA says it is reviewing the federal indictment involving former guard Malik Beasley and ex-big man Ed Davis, stressing that the league is taking the allegations “with the utmost seriousness.”
“We are in the process of reviewing the federal indictment unsealed today involving Malik Beasley and Ed Davis,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement. “We will continue to investigate this matter and cooperate with the relevant authorities. We take these allegations with the utmost seriousness, and the integrity of our game remains our top priority.”

Federal prosecutors in New York have indicted Beasley on charges related to alleged sports betting, money laundering and wire fraud. Davis also has been indicted as part of the same investigation.
According to The Athletic, prosecutors allege Beasley and Davis worked with others to manipulate Beasley’s performances in several Bucks games during the 2023-24 season for betting purposes.
Beasley’s attorney, Steve Haney, told the Detroit Free Press that his client “looks forward to defending all charges.”
Beasley, 29, last played in the NBA during the 2024-25 season with the Pistons before signing with Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico. Davis last appeared in the league during the 2021-22 season.
The NBA said its investigation remains ongoing.
