Aaron Nkrumah and Damari Monsanto’s stay on the Kings’ preseason roster was brief. Their time in the organization could last considerably longer.
Sacramento waived both wings Tuesday after signing them to Exhibit 10 contracts Monday, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac. Both appear headed to the Stockton Kings, where their deals allow for bonuses of up to $91,000 if they spend at least 60 days with the G League affiliate.
Nkrumah went undrafted out of Tennessee State after winning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year honors. Monsanto spent last season in the G League and shot 42.8 percent from beyond the arc.
The quick turnaround fits the usual October routine — sign a player, waive him and prepare to bring him aboard in the G League.
More moves from Tuesday:
- Hawks: Atlanta waived rookie guard Isaac McKneely, per Smith. McKneely went undrafted out of Louisville and signed an Exhibit 10 contract last month. He’s expected to join the College Park Skyhawks, with a bonus of up to $91,000 available if he spends at least 60 days there.
- Spurs: San Antonio waived former North Carolina guard RJ Davis, according to Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot. Davis averaged 18.4 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds for the South Bay Lakers last season, shooting 42.4 percent on 3-pointers and earning G League All-Rookie honors. Austin acquired his returning rights this summer, giving him a likely destination once he clears waivers. His Exhibit 10 deal allows for a bonus of up to $91,000 with a 60-day stay.
- Nuggets: Denver signed and waived Pedro Bradshaw, according to Smith. Bradshaw has played in the G League, Australia and Germany since going undrafted in 2021. He also represented Team USA in World Cup qualifying this summer. He’ll likely join the Grand Rapids Gold after clearing waivers.
