Bulls
The Bulls believe they’re turning the page.
In a lengthy look at the franchise by ESPN’s Jamal Collier, several team sources described a much different atmosphere under new head of basketball operations Bryson Graham than existed under the previous front office.
“There’s a very, very, very different vibe,” one basketball operations staffer told ESPN. “Everybody feels it.”
According to the report, front office members have been more involved in discussions surrounding the draft, free agency and coaching decisions after many previously felt their voices weren’t being heard.
Graham said collaboration will be a major part of his leadership style.
“I’m not trying to come in and overcorrect,” he said. “I’m just leading in the way that I believe is the proper way to lead.”
Chicago is coming off another disappointing season and hopes a more unified front office will help chart a clearer direction moving forward.
Spurs
The Spurs have withdrawn their qualifying offer to forward Harrison Ingram, making him an unrestricted free agent.
A second-round pick in 2024, Ingram spent the past two seasons on two-way contracts with San Antonio, appearing in just 12 NBA games while spending most of his time with the Austin Spurs.
The former North Carolina standout averaged 16.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists in the G League last season.
San Antonio can still re-sign Ingram, including on another two-way deal, though the team’s three two-way spots are currently crowded.
Team USA
Team USA’s coaching staff is beginning to come together.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Thunder coach Mark Daigneault, Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Gonzaga’s Mark Few are expected to serve as assistants under head coach Erik Spoelstra.
Spoelstra was named Team USA’s head coach last fall and will lead the Americans into the 2027 FIBA World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Daigneault recently guided the Thunder to an NBA championship, while Bickerstaff is coming off a 60-win season with the Pistons. Few brings extensive international experience after serving on Steve Kerr‘s staff during the 2024 Olympic Games.
