Lakers

Luka Doncic is wasting little time getting to know his new teammates.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Doncic plans to host the Lakers for a four-day minicamp at his home in Slovenia next month as the franchise begins preparing for its first full season built around the All-NBA guard.

The gathering is expected to include workouts, golf and sightseeing in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. McMenamin also reported that Doncic has offered to cover the travel expenses for every teammate making the trip.

The Lakers enter the season with a much different roster after saying goodbye to LeBron James, Marcus Smart, Deandre Ayton, Rui Hachimura and Luke Kennard, while adding Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton and Sandro Mamukelashvili.

Warriors

Draymond Green‘s new contract includes one familiar provision and one notable wrinkle.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Green’s one-year, $27.7 million deal includes a 15 percent trade kicker, matching the provision in his previous contract.

Green also waived his implicit no-trade clause for the upcoming season, meaning the Warriors could trade the veteran forward after Dec. 15 without needing his approval.

Meanwhile, Slater also shared a comment from Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who said Golden State never truly believed it was in serious contention to land LeBron James this summer.

“I didn’t even realistically think we were in the running for LeBron,” Kerr told Slater. “It just never seemed serious to me, despite all the reports.”

Kings

The Kings may be coming off a disappointing season, but some of their younger players are already talking about changing the culture.

NBC Sports California’s Tristi Rodriguez highlighted comments from rookie big man Maxime Raynaud, who said Sacramento’s young core must take ownership of the team’s future rather than waiting for coaches or management to establish the standard.

“We work as a group, and at the end of the day, it’s our responsibility to get it going on the floor,” Raynaud said.

Sacramento missed the playoffs after its toughest season in more than a decade, but the organization is hoping players such as Raynaud and fellow rookie Dylan Cardwell can help lay the foundation for better days ahead.
