Lakers

The Lakers may still be sorting out the present, but the front office is already eyeing optionality for 2026.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Lakers have internally discussed several potential free-agent targets, including Andrew Wiggins and Tari Eason, though both come with caveats. Wiggins holds a player option for 2026-27, while Eason would be a restricted free agent if Houston keeps him.

Another name on the Lakers’ radar is Peyton Watson, with the understanding that Denver’s cap situation could complicate its ability to match a strong offer.

Beyond those headline names, league sources told ESPN that the Lakers are prioritizing defenders with size who can also make shots. That brings players like Tobias Harris, Quentin Grimes, and Dean Wade into the conversation as possible fits, depending on how the market develops.

As head of basketball operations Rob Pelinka put it earlier this month, flexibility matters, especially as more teams get squeezed by the aprons.

Jazz

The Jazz confirmed that Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent successful surgery Tuesday to remove a localized PVNS growth in his left knee.

The procedure was performed in Salt Lake City by team physician Dr. Travis Maak. Jackson will begin rehab immediately and be reevaluated in four weeks, though Utah has already indicated he is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Acquired from Memphis at the deadline, Jackson appeared in three games for the Jazz before being shut down, averaging 22.3 points in limited minutes. With him sidelined, Cody Williams is expected to remain in the starting lineup.

Warriors

The Warriors have officially signed Nate Williams to a two-way contract, per the NBA transaction log.

Williams, also known as Jeenathan Williams, has been productive with the G League’s Long Island Nets, averaging 18.4 points and six rebounds per game while shooting efficiently.

Golden State had a two-way opening after promoting Pat Spencer, so no corresponding move was required.
