Mavericks

There’s still no timetable for Kyrie Irving to return, but there are signs of progress.

Irving traveled with the Mavericks to Sacramento and completed a workout with assistant coach Phil Handy following Tuesday’s shootaround, according to Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal. His presence on the three-game road trip is viewed as a positive step.

Dallas also listed forward P.J. Washington as day-to-day after he missed Saturday’s game with a right ankle sprain.

Nets

The Nets will keep both Tyrese Martin and Jalen Wilson through the salary guarantee deadline, per Brian Lewis of The New York Post and Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Both players were on non-guaranteed deals, but Brooklyn opted not to waive either, locking in Martin’s $2,191,897 salary and Wilson’s $2,221,677.

Martin, a former UConn second-round pick, has remained a rotation player after averaging 8.7 points last season. His production has dipped slightly this year, but he’s still seeing regular minutes.

Wilson, a 2023 second-round pick, has taken on a smaller role after starting 22 games last season, averaging 4.9 points in limited minutes off the bench.

The decision is notable given Brooklyn’s flexibility. The Nets still have more than $15 million in cap room and could use it to absorb contracts near the trade deadline. Both players would be restricted free agents in 2026 if they finish out their deals.

76ers

The 76ers expect to get reinforcements Wednesday.

Forwards Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford were upgraded to probable after participating in shootaround, per Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Oubre has been sidelined since mid-November with a left knee sprain, while Watford last played Nov. 25 due to a left adductor strain. Both were playing some of the best basketball of their careers before getting hurt.
