NBA Reinstates Jalen Harris Following Drug Violation

The NBA has reinstated shooting guard Jalen Harris after he had been suspended for two years for violating the league’s drug policy.Jalen Harris

Harris, 24, is 6-foot-5 and was selected by the Raptors out of Louisiana Tech in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2020 NBA Draft. He had been dismissed and disqualified from the league for one year for testing positive for a prohibited substance under the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

He did manage to play for the Raptors as a rookie, as well as Raptors905, their G League affiliate. In May 2021, he scored a career-high 31 points against the Mavericks in his hometown of Dallas.

Overall, he compiled averages of 7.4 points and 50 percent shooting in 13 games with Toronto.

He then spent a year playing for Italian club Vanoli Cremona, and last season with joining the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League before applying for reinstatement.
