NBA Rumors: Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nets, draft, Kings

Bucks

The Bucks currently own just one first-round pick. Apparently, they’re acting like they expect more.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Woo, rival teams around the league noticed Milwaukee behaving at the combine as though multiple draft selections could eventually land in its hands before draft night.

Naturally, that only intensified speculation surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Last week, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the Bucks were listening to trade offers for the two-time MVP, while ESPN’s Tim Bontemps added there’s growing belief around the NBA that a Giannis deal could happen before the draft.

Nothing appears imminent publicly. But teams are definitely reading the room.

And for what it’s worth, both Woo and Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Connor currently project Tennessee forward Nate Ament to Milwaukee at No. 10 overall. Same goes for Hoops Wire in our latest mock.

Nets

The Nets don’t sound fully committed to any one direction at No. 6.

O’Connor mocked Illinois guard Keaton Wagler to Brooklyn in his latest draft projection, but league sources also connected the Nets to Mara and Ament.

Woo added that Brooklyn is not viewed around the league as a lock to select a guard and could explore moving either up or down the board depending on how the draft unfolds.

Translation? Flexibility. The Nets appear to be keeping their options wide open as they continue reshaping the roster.

Kings

The Kings may already have a target in mind at No. 7 overall.

According to both ESPN and Yahoo Sports, Arkansas guard Darius Acuff is widely viewed around the league as a strong possibility for Sacramento.

The fit makes sense. The Kings need another point guard option, and O’Connor noted there are already several existing connections between Acuff and Sacramento’s front office.

At this point in the process, those relationships tend to matter quite a bit.
