Despite some rumors, the Warriors have not shown real interest in DeMar DeRozan, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.
DeRozan was floated as a possible fallback option after Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending ACL injury, but that idea appears to be more speculation than substance. The Warriors are exploring other options, and DeRozan is seemingly not part of their current plan.
Amick reiterated that multiple teams have shown past interest in Domantas Sabonis, including the Wizards, Suns, and Bulls.
But right now, the Raptors appear to be the most legitimate suitor. Toronto has been linked to Sabonis throughout the season, and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line noted this week that the Raptors remain engaged.
If a real push comes, Toronto is the team to watch.
Contrary to one recent report, New York has not engaged in trade talks involving Karl-Anthony Towns, per Amick and SNY’s Ian Begley.
The Knicks are expected to focus on maximizing Towns within Mike Brown’s system rather than selling low while his value is slightly down.
