Who Must Wait Until Jan. 15?

Most free agents become trade-eligible on Dec. 15. A smaller group must wait until Jan. 15 due to Bird or Early Bird re-signings that included raises exceeding 20 percent.

Trade-eligible Jan. 15:

Josh Giddey — $25,000,000
Jonathan Kuminga — $22,500,000
Naz Reid — $21,551,724
Santi Aldama — $18,485,916
Davion Mitchell — $11,600,000

Isaiah Jackson — $7,600,000
Paul Reed — $5,335,894
Ryan Rollins — $4,000,000

Other Trade-Date Restrictions

Nine players signed veteran extensions that trigger a six-month trade restriction. Their eligibility dates vary.

Trade eligibility by date:

Steven Adams — Dec. 14
Jaylin Williams — Dec. 19
Jakob Poeltl — Jan. 7
Devin Booker — Jan. 10
Jaren Jackson Jr. — Jan. 13
Herbert Jones — Jan. 14
Mikal Bridges — Feb. 1
Luka Doncic — Feb. 2
De’Aaron Fox — Feb. 4

Warriors-Specific Timing

Golden State’s offseason maneuvering created a unique wrinkle. Because the Warriors delayed signings while resolving the Jonathan Kuminga situation, several players face later eligibility dates.

Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton cannot be traded until Jan. 1, three months after signing Oct. 1. Gary Payton II and No. 56 pick Will Richard become trade-eligible on Dec. 29.
