Nets Reportedly Set High Price For Cam Johnson; Willing To Trade Dennis Schroder, Others

The Brooklyn Nets traded forward Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks and are said to be very willing to move forward Cam Johnson, too. But they may want the sun, moon, stars and lots of draft picks in return.NBA, Cameron Johnson, Nets

Per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, GM Sean Marks and the Nets have received plenty of trade interest in Johnson. Marks has set a sky-high asking price, though. And until the Nets get the offer they want, it appears Johnson will remain with the team.

Along with Johnson, the Nets are willing to move point guard Dennis Schroder, forward Dorian Finney-Smith, and wing Bojan Bogdanovic, Lewis reported. Bogdanovic was acquired as part of the Bridges trade.

The Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic are just some of the teams linked to Johnson. It is not known if those teams still have an interest.

Johnson appeared in 58 games for the Nets in 2023-24. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 44.6% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the free-throw line.

Johnson, 28, has career averages of 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Suns and Nets while shooting 44.7% overall, 39.2% from 3 and 83.0% from the foul line.

Johnson will make $23.6 million next season. He signed a four-year, $94.5 million contract with the Nets in July 2023.

“I’ll just let whatever happens, happens,” Johnson said at the NBA Summer League about his future. “Obviously, I think we have a pretty good group in Brooklyn that we can really start to grow something. If I’m staying in Brooklyn, then I’m all-in, excited to play, excited to grow this group, and that’s where my head’s at right now. I’m on the Brooklyn Nets right now.”
