In a move that’s viewed as a formality, the Nets have extended a qualifying offer to small forward Cameron Johnson, as relayed by Hoops Rumors and RealGM.
This makes Johnson a restricted free agent, allowing the Nets to match any offer from an opposing team. The Pistons are among those expected to make a run, as we relayed here.
Along the same lines, the Bulls have extended a QO to guard Coby White, who is also expected to be pursued by rival teams — though not to the extent of Johnson. White’s qualifying offer is for $7.7 million, while Johnson’s is around $8.5 million.
The deadline to extend QO’s is Thursday. Others who have already received them, as relayed by Hoops Rumors:
- Ayo Dosunmu, Bulls ($5.2 million)
- Jock Landale, Suns ($2.2 million)
- Trent Forrest, Hawks (two-way)
- Terry Taylor, Bulls (two-way)
- Collin Gillespie, Nuggets (two-way)
- Jack White, Nuggets (two-way)
- Kendall Brown, Pacers (two-way)
- Moussa Diabate, Clippers (two-way)
- Saben Lee, Suns (two-way)
Hoops Wire will continue to update the list as qualifying offers become official.
