Nets Landing Another Veteran In Paul Millsap

Free agent forward Paul Millsap has agreed to a deal with the Nets, agent DeAngelo Simmons told Shams Charania of The Athletic.Paul Millsap

Millsap becomes the latest veteran to latch on with Brooklyn, joining the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Blake Griffin, Patty Mills, James Johnson and others.

Millsap, 36, is 6-foot-7 and also considered the Warriors, Bulls and Clippers, Charania reported. The Nets were only able to offer a veteran’s minimum contact for one season.

He played a vital role for the Nuggets over the past four seasons, including a run to the Western Conference finals in 2020. He became an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

He averaged just 9.0 points and a career-low 4.7 rebounds last season, and is at the stage of his career where he is best suited to come off the bench.

“The addition of Millsap would bring the Nets to 20 players heading into camp if they sign second-round draft picks Marcus Zegarowski and RaiQuan Gray,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “The team still has one of its two-way slots open.”
