Nikola Vucevic is back in Orlando, and apparently the uniform still fits.
The veteran center returned to the Magic in free agency this summer, more than five years after the franchise traded him to Chicago.
“I gotta say I think I look pretty good in the blue with the stripes in white,” Vucevic said, via Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel. “It felt pretty natural being back in that blue.”
Vucevic spent more than eight seasons with the Magic during his first stint, so even with a different coaching staff and an almost entirely different roster, the surroundings are familiar.
“It was good to be back,” he said. “It was good to get out there with the guys, but I think the real, real feel will probably be on opening night.”
Vucevic made his preseason debut Wednesday against Memphis, finishing with nine points and three rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.
He is expected to serve as Orlando’s primary backup to Wendell Carter Jr. this season.
For now, Vucevic is simply enjoying being back where a big part of his NBA career began.
