Pacers Rumors: Ivica Zubac, Tobias Harris, Dalton Knecht

The Pacers face an important offseason after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign, and several roster questions are already generating discussion around the organization.

Here’s a look at some of the latest Pacers chatter.

Zubac extension decision looms

As Evan Massey of Roundtable recently noted, Indiana will have the opportunity to discuss a contract extension with center Ivica Zubac this offseason.

The Pacers acquired Zubac from the Clippers at the trade deadline, viewing him as a potential long-term answer in the middle. However, Massey argued that Indiana may be wise to proceed carefully before committing significant money.

The biggest reason? The Pacers still haven’t seen what a fully healthy Zubac looks like alongside Tyrese Haliburton in Rick Carlisle‘s system.

Zubac appeared in just five games following the trade and never had a chance to fully establish himself before the season ended. While few question his talent, Indiana may want a larger sample size before making a major financial commitment.

Could Harris make sense?

Meanwhile, Ben Cooper of Roundtable suggested veteran forward Tobias Harris as a possible free-agent target.

Harris is coming off another productive season and would offer additional scoring, shooting and experience to a team hoping to return to contention.

As Cooper pointed out, the Pacers already have a solid core led by Haliburton, Pascal Siakam and Zubac. Adding a veteran such as Harris could provide another reliable option without dramatically altering the roster structure.

Whether Indiana has the financial flexibility to make such a move remains another question.

Knecht mentioned as a possible trade target

Elsewhere, Massey highlighted a trade idea originally proposed by Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star involving Lakers wing Dalton Knecht.

According to Dopirak, Knecht could benefit from Indiana’s up-tempo style of play, while the Lakers might have interest in the defensive versatility of Ben Sheppard.

Massey agreed that Knecht’s scoring ability could make him an intriguing target for a Pacers team seeking additional offense off the bench.

Of course, there is no indication such discussions have taken place.

But as Indiana looks for ways to improve around Haliburton and Siakam, creative trade scenarios are likely to remain part of the offseason conversation.
