The Pelicans intend to waive guard/forward Garrett Temple, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Temple, 37, appeared in just 20 games last season but is viewed as a respected veteran voice and a key member of the players’ union.
He has also spent time with the Bulls, Rockets, Kings, Spurs, Clippers, Nets, Grizzlies and Wizards since entering the NBA in 2009.
Temple’s salary is set to be fully guaranteed on Friday, likely leading to the move from New Orleans.
Sources: The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving Garrett Temple, @hoopshype has learned. Temple’s $5.4 million salary for the 2023-24 season would’ve been fully guaranteed by July 7 if he remained on the roster.
