Raptors’ Brandon Ingram doubtful for Game 7 vs. Cavs

The Raptors again may be without a key piece in a winner-take-all setting.

Brandon Ingram has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday’s Game 7 in Cleveland, according to the NBA injury report. Ingram had initially been listed as questionable.

The injury is a familiar one. Ingram aggravated a right heel issue during the second quarter of Game 5 and didn’t return. It’s the same injury that sidelined him late in the regular season.

There haven’t been many encouraging signs since.

Per Michael Grange of Sportsnet, Ingram was still in a walking boot during shootaround Sunday morning, which lines up with the downgrade.

Ingram also missed Game 6, and now his status for Game 7 looks very much in doubt.

That’s a tough hit for Raptors, who are looking to win their first playoff game ever in Cleveland. That said, Toronto managed to win Game 6 in overtime without him.

Tip-off is 7:42 p.m. EST on NBC and Peacock.
