Report: Cavaliers Looking To Trade Dean Wade

Cavaliers forward Dean Wade could be on the move.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to trade Dean Wade.

Wade will make $6,623,456 next season in the final year of his contract.

“From everything that I’ve heard, the Cavs have had discussions about Dean Wade,” Fedor said. “And do they want to see if they can use him and something else to see if they can get assets back, different kinds of assets back, or different kinds of players back in return.

“So I think they’re trying to figure out what is possible for us. And if we move off of Isaac Okoro’s money if we move off Dean Wade’s money, does that make it easier to justify a Ty Jerome contract? Does that make it easier to justify a Sam Merrill contract?”

Wade appeared in 59 games this season. He averaged 5.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 41.3% from the field, 36.0% from beyond the arc and 53.3% from the free-throw line.

The Cavaliers are projected to have $219 million in salary for the 2025-26 season and be over the second apron. Jerome and Merrill become unrestricted free agents this offseason.

Cleveland had the top record in the East at 64-18. The team swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round in five games.

The Cavaliers have not gotten past the second round of the playoffs since acquiring Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in 2022.

  1. I’m REALLY sorry, Sam, to have to say that BOGUS officiating renders almost every sincere effort for writers like you, commentators, Players, and FANS too, that follows the whole of the NBA, utterly useless. No matter how hard the offseason efforts, preseason efforts, and the SEASON itself, presents conference winners 1 thru 10, the playoffs “rules” have destroyed completely any confidence in the officiating being fair anymore! When players can stand within 10 feet of an official and get shoved out of bounds by a player and no call except, gee, you stepped on the baseline, TURNOVER! I quit watching ! ! ! NO REASON TO WATCH !

This event was after several horrendous one way calls. This last game was in the bag for OKC, just as several other games have been called, NOT according to the NBA basketball rules, but after the whimes of a, so called official, who is either completely blind or on the take! Why watch or even concern yourself with an event that has now been given over to such unreasonable so called sports when the outcomes are already solidified.
I am NOT even a fan of the PACERS, or any other except the CAVs. But they have been shafted Royally by the officials and I am by far NOT the only one who have observed this. This needs to be reported widely & objectively and called out or it WILL NOT CEASE. Will that happen,,,,???? (Becoming like the Wrestling of the 1970’s) Is that where we are headed?
EVEN AFTER video REVIEWS, the WRONG CALL IS STILL MADE WORSE–IE, Obi Toppen Flagrant foul ! Ridiculous ! Rigging game outcomes IS WRONG!
