Rival executives increasingly expect Jaylen Brown to be traded

Around the NBA, the question surrounding Celtics star Jaylen Brown may no longer be if.

It may simply be when.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, rival front offices have become increasingly convinced Boston will eventually trade Brown, with executives now wondering “when and where” a deal happens rather than whether it happens at all.

That doesn’t mean a trade is imminent. But interest around the league continues to be strong.

Scotto reports the Trail Blazers, Raptors, Nuggets, Nets, Hornets, Hawks and Clippers have all expressed interest in Brown at various points.

Portland remains one of the teams most frequently linked to the four-time All-Star, though the Blazers have reportedly refused to include either Deni Avdija or Donovan Clingan in discussions. Boston, meanwhile, is believed to have interest in Toumani Camara, while former lottery picks Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe are viewed as potential trade pieces.

Elsewhere, Atlanta is not considered likely to make an all-in push for Brown, while the Clippers’ interest was strongest before the draft.

Scotto added that although the Pelicans, Rockets and Magic have all been loosely connected to Brown, none of those teams appears to be actively pursuing a deal at this time.

As we’ve written before, the level of interest in Brown isn’t difficult to understand.

Finding a package that satisfies the Celtics, however, remains the bigger challenge.
