Rockets Adding Anthony Lamb On Two-Way Deal

The Rockets are signing guard/forward Anthony Lamb to a two-way contract, as first relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.Anthony Lamb

Lamb, 24, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in 24 games with the Rockets last season as a rookie, averaging 5.5 points. He played two games with the Spurs this year after signing a 10-day contract in January.

Most of his time has been spent in the G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ affiliate. With the Vipers, Lamb averaged 15.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 34 games.

The Rockets had an open two-way slot, and given that they’re not headed to the playoffs, can start auditioning guys for next season.

“Two-way contracts allow players to shuttle back and forth between the G League and the parent NBA club,” explained Ben DuBose of USA Today. “However, with the Rockets fully healthy at the moment and with only 10 games left to play, it seems unlikely that Lamb will play much at the NBA level in the coming days.”
