Rumor: No Major Changes Coming To Cavaliers’ Roster As It Pertains To Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen

No major changes are coming to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ roster as it pertains to Darius Garland or Jarrett Allen, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints

The Cavaliers’ core four of Garland, Allen, Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley will be back next season.

Cleveland lost Ty Jerome to the Memphis Grizzlies on day one of free agency. However, the franchise acquired Lonzo Ball from the Chicago Bulls for Isaac Okoro.

“No major changes are coming to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ roster as it pertains to Darius Garland or Jarrett Allen, sources said,” Siegel wrote. “Cleveland is confident that they have a championship-contending team, especially after adding Lonzo Ball to replace Ty Jerome in the backcourt. Ball will see a key role early in the season with Garland injured.”

The Cavaliers were the number one seed in the Eastern Conference last season. They swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round in five games.

Cleveland hasn’t advanced past the second round of the postseason since 2018.

Garland had surgery on June 9 to repair the left big toe injury that troubled him during the 2025 playoffs. The two-time All-Star is expected to miss four to five months and could miss the first 10 to 15 games of next season.

Garland has spent his entire career with the Cavaliers, while Allen has played for the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland.
