Sixers force Game 7 vs. Celtics: ‘Tired of losing to them’

The Sixers picked the right night to look even more like themselves.

They handled the Celtics 106-93 in Game 6, tying the series at 3-3 and setting up a Game 7 in Boston.

This was control from the start. Philadelphia never trailed. The ball moved. The defense held. The stars delivered.

Tyrese Maxey scored 30 and did not commit a single turnover in nearly 40 minutes. Paul George added 23 in what teammates called one of his most complete games with the team. Joel Embiid flirted with a triple-double and kept the offense steady throughout.

“I’m tired of losing to them,” Embiid said, via ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. “So we have a chance to accomplish something special.”

That is the backdrop here. Boston has eliminated Philadelphia in six straight playoff meetings. The Sixers have never come back from a 3-1 series deficit.

Now they have one shot to change both narratives.

“They’re a great team,” Embiid said. “We just got to go with the mindset we’ve had.”

Game 7 is Saturday in Boston. Everything on the line.
