Tacko Fall is getting another shot at the NBA, and if nothing else, that’s pretty cool.
The 7-foot-6 center has officially signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the 76ers and is expected to participate in training camp.
Fall, 30, hasn’t appeared in the NBA since playing 11 games for the Cavaliers during the 2021-22 season. He previously spent two years with the Celtics and has played primarily overseas since leaving Cleveland, including stops in China and with the New Zealand Breakers.
The Sixers also signed guard Jameer Nelson Jr. and forward Saint Thomas to Exhibit 10 deals. Nelson is the son of former NBA guard and current Philadelphia executive Jameer Nelson, while Thomas spent last season with the Sixers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
Philadelphia does have an open two-way spot, so technically there’s something to compete for here.
Fall has always been one of the NBA’s more fascinating players for obvious reasons. Whether this turns into anything beyond a September training camp opportunity remains to be seen.
Either way, Tacko is back. At least for now.
