Sixers Gauging Trade Interest On Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle

After failing to advance beyond the second round of the playoffs, the 76ers are looking to make some changes.

For now, that means exploring trade interest on the likes of Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Along with those two, the 76ers are also floating the names of Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton — as well as a package of Danny Green and their No. 23 overall draft pick, Pompey reported.

With Joel Embiid and James Harden as starting points, the Sixers are “determined” for an upgrade, recognizing that their current roster is not championship material, Pompey wrote. So they are on the lookout for veterans who can help push them to another level.

Last month, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said that Philadelphia head of basketball operations Daryl Morey has “big, giant plans” to add a third star.

“You would need a player, potentially near the end of his contract, to come and say, ‘I would like to go play in Philadelphia,'” Windhorst said. “Is that something that could happen? Maybe, we’ll see. I know that Philly, and Daryl, are going to try to make it happen.”

Harris has two years and $76.9 million left on his contract. The Sixers have tried to trade him in the past. A pro’s pro, Harris also has a role in the Adam Sandler Netflix hit, “Hustle.”

Meanwhile, per RealGM: “Thybulle was once thought to be untouchable, though he has not progressed on the offensive side of the ball as much as the Sixers would have liked. He will be eligible for a five-year, $186 million extension this summer.”

Pompey added that the 76ers recently picked up the team option on Milton for just under $2 million, a nice value for a player of his skills and experience.
