Sixers Guard Danny Green Has ACL Tear, MRI Reveals

Sixers shooting guard Danny Green has been diagnosed with a torn left ACL, an injury suffered in the playoff loss to the Heat, relayed Shams Charania of The Athletic. The 76ers confirmed the severity of the injury.Danny Green

Green suffered the the injury during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, with an MRI determining the extent.

Given the history of ACL tears, Green stands a decent chance of missing all of next season.

“To make matters worse, the veteran swingman will turn 35 years old next month — rehabbing such an injury and getting back to full health and effectiveness at his age could be a significantly more uphill battle than it would be for a player 10 or 15 years younger,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.

Green averaged 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds this past season, remaining one of Philadelphia’s most reliable perimeter shooters and defenders.
