The 76ers are planning to sign guard Mac McClung to a two-way contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
McClung, 24, is 6-foot-2 and has been playing for the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers’ affiliate in the G League. He will also be the G League representative in the Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend on Saturday.
In 18 games with the Blue Coats, McClung is averaging 19.1 points and 4.7 assists, shooting a sizzling 58 percent from the field and 50 percent on 3-pointers.
He went undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2021, then appeared in two NBA games last season — one each with the Bulls and Lakers.
He signed two 10-day deals with the Bulls in the middle of the season, followed by a 10-day with the Lakers in April. This past fall, McClung attended training camp with the Warriors and Sixers before being waived by each.
To make room for McClung, the Sixers are waiving two-way small forward Julian Champagnie, who has appeared in two games.
